Independence from commissions
Bar Bumperearns affiliate commissions, but commission never decides a pick. When a cheaper product is the better buy, it's the recommendation — even when it pays us less, and even when it links to a retailer that pays us nothing. Buyer-first beats commission, every time.
No fabricated reviews, ratings, or credentials
We never invent testimonials, star ratings, review counts, or author credentials. Our visible scores are our own editorial ratings derived from published specs (see how we pick); they are clearly labeled as such and are never presented as third-party review data. We do not claim professional certifications we don't hold, and we do not claim to have hands-on or lab-tested gear we haven't.
Prices are live or absent
Prices come only from live retailer data and are stamped with a verification date. Stale prices are removed automatically rather than shown. We never hand-type a price or leave an old one on the page.
Sourcing and accuracy
Specifications come from manufacturer listings, manuals, and published standards, and we cite our sources. Owner-review patterns are reported as other owners' experience, not our own. When we get something wrong, we correct it and update the “last updated” date on the page.
Corrections
Spotted an error — a wrong spec, a broken link, a price that won't die? Please tell us. We fix confirmed mistakes promptly and note the update date on the affected page.
Disclosure
How we're funded is spelled out in full on our affiliate disclosure page, and every commercial page carries a visible disclosure next to its buy links.
